A cute Christmas ornament craft for you! These are very easy to make and for the most part can be FREE, if you get any Christmas cards sent to your home each year. Please keep your Christmas cards each year, they are a source for lots of fun free crafty things! Just cut the pretty fronts off the back and keep them. Next year you can use these as post cards or use the pictures for other things. I sometimes let the kids cut them apart to make their own personal cards....or we have cut some thinner before, punched wholes in the top and looped some yarn through for a quick bookmark craft gift idea. Making goodies? write the recipe on the back to share! Cut small for gift tags too. This ornament craft is simple and fast. I couldn't have anything breakable on the tree this year because of a new kitten so I made some of these to help fill the gaps! And IF she ruins them....it's really ok :) By the way....we named her Trouble, no need to ask why! ;)
Things you'll need:
Christmas cards
Needle
Thread
Scissors
Cut card into strips. You don't need perfection for this, I just cut free hand as best as I can. Thread your needle and tie a big knot in the end. Now poke thread through the end of each strip - try to keep the spacing about the same and keep the color to the outside *see picture*. Once all strips are threaded tie another knot to hold it all together. Your pieces should be all stacked up now. Next you'll need to poke through the tops of the strips- do one at a time makes it easier. Once all are done, bend the strips gently to form a U. Kinda like stringing a bow. Tie a knot to hold this shape. Next just fan out each strip to form your ornament! These are really pretty if you add some crystal glitter to them, but I just kept them plain for the sake of our new kitty! The directions are confusing but hopefully the pictures make it clear :)
