Frugal Kitchen Redo

YAY!! The kitchen got finished! I was a wee bit worried we wouldn't get it all done before Thanksgiving. I guess it's good to set deadlines like family get togethers to really light a fire on ones efforts! It may be hard to tell a difference from the pictures but here's what we did. Took down the pansy wallpaper boarder on the ceilings and the ivy wallpaper that covered the back splash area. This was a necessary and timely redo because the wallpaper was starting to peel away after each washing. We painted the back splash a color called spiced ginger and laid new peel and stick tiles over the old vinyl. I found some "new to me" window toppers on E-Bay for $3 for all three windows-what a DEAL!! I painted a shelf black and decorated with things from elsewhere around the house-FREE. A picture frame also got painted black and the hutch got a new coat of cream paint and some new baskets....I sponged a few squares on it to add to the slight country feel we now have. I feel so blessed to have been able to get this done right now :) My DH worked really hard and I love him so much for all the effort and time put in! We worked really well as a team on this one.

And if that isn't enough (LOL)...here's my first ever montage! You'll get to see some of the process and some better views of the decorations and things. Enjoy a peek at my kitchen.

Being someone who LOVES to cook, I love seeing everyone's kitchens. It's the heart of the home basically!!
