A Bit on Blogging...

Is my blog really my blog. Hmmm that's an interesting question when asked in the light of knowing that I am a Christian. Do I have a right to say whatever I want, how I want and when I want? Every good gift and every good thing that I am or have or can do comes from the Lord. What if our Lord and Savior, Jesus, had a blog. What would He post about? What kinds of pictures would grace the presence of His palace in cyber land? What would He be talking to His children about and how would He say it ....what would He be showing the lost...the brethren ...what tone and mood would come across in the words He would choose to show the world? These are important thoughts to think about ...especially if you are a follower of Christ, for He DOES have a blog because He lives through you and in you. Should we ever worry about if our blog pleases people or not? Short answer...no. You can not be worried about pleasing people. For there is only one that matters. God. Our audience of One. Our posts should honor and glorify Him always. Integrity matters....in the Kingdom and for the Kingdom because we represent the Kingdom and are ambassadors for Christ. Should blogs have a purpose? Well...yes. No different than our everyday Christian lives have purpose. To share God's love...to edify, to uplift, to minister, to shine, to Glorify, to grow, to help, to bless and be blessed, to fellowship, to mentor, to offer hospitality to one another....to share our unique giftings that God has equipped us each with according to His own will. How do we protect ourselves while out in Blog land? Well that depends. Firstly, I have always left my protection to God...in the largest picture....I can not keep myself better then God can. He is my protector and vindicator when need be. You can guard your anonymity in a righteous way, don't settle for less because of fear. You simply do not include personal items that you want protected. Here's an easy example. You don't want people to know what your house looks like? That's perfectly fine and a reasonable thing to want to protect. Just leave it out. Don't post a picture of someone else's house and claim it's yours. That would be dishonest. God never tells us to lie to protect ourselves. An honest approach to that would be to either show nothing....or post a picture from the web and say, this isn't my house but very similar to the style I own. Don't want people to know your name? Also a reasonable protection. My name isn't really Moxie....if you've read my blog you know this....why and how? Because I started out letting people know it was a pen name I chose. How to handle when people find out your personal items... cuz it can happen and does. Simple, don't acknowledge if it's right or wrong. You can set up safety features and block people from your blog or take your blog to private or not blog at all if it really bothers you. Anytime we put ourselves out there....we run the risk of trouble. In real life and no different in blog land. Use wisdom when choosing to blog. Ask for it if you are unsure. I try to keep true strife off my blog. Strife is not a differing opinion...strife is trouble...and we all know the difference. I try to deal with issues privately with individuals. And yes I've had a few. If you follow a blog that is chronically filled with public strife and discord...please heavily consider whether this is a place best suited to your time and edifying to God. God has so much to say about what comes out our mouths and how to deal with our mouths...and boy it's HARD at times. I pray often that God brings me up higher in this area, teaching me to be still and quiet more often. I honestly just want to Glorify Him in thought, deed and word as best as I can as I walk with Him and grow and learn His ways better. Get me out of my own way Lord!

Father, help us your children to see clearly what you'd have us share with the world each day. Keep our hearts, motives, thoughts and writings pure....and let nothing that You yourself wouldn't speak pass our lips. Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of my mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it. (Ephesians 4:29) May we be ambassadors of Hope always in this time of need and be here on earth as your Son Jesus was. Speaking always in love, hope and life. Remove from our lips condemnation, hate, slander, and discord. Forgive me for times I am weak in this area and may your Holy Spirit convict me as need be to bring about change all and only for your glory! In Jesus name, Amen.

Truly he is our mentor , I do not think god would call people stupid , now jump up and down at other misfortune , I dicussed this with some housless people once. If jesus walked among us would he dislike us and say be off with you , or would he sit beside us , talk with us , and guide us , holding his hand out to help us up off the ground.

We follow and emulate those that we trust , and we love those we trust wholly.

God defined our paths so very uniquely. we must be open to being his tools. Every night I pray that he use me to reach out , and sometimes , I feel him doing just that , reaching out through me.

Jesus I don;t think would avoid the dark alley on purpose , but he would go there and offer his hands , he woudl mediate and calm the crowds.

He gave us knowledge of right and wrong , and If I do wrong , I feel it , but at times , I know he wants me in rough places , to be his tool.

I think sometimes that people also forget that god designed us uniquely as well , some may be better suited for differing tasks of gods choosing , which is why we all live such diverse lives.

some will be gods hammer , and some will be gods sandpaper , and some will be his WD-40.

Sorry to droll on and on , it just hit me right - I have so much to say sometimes and I just can't hold it back , and then when I finish saying it I really hope it makes sense.

I LOVE this thought "some will be gods hammer , and some will be gods sandpaper , and some will be his WD-40"...I think I'm more apt to fit in the WD-40 group although I may sometimes dip into a nail file (sandpapers smaller, softer cousin-LOL) Thanks for stopping by HH with your contributions :)
