Goings on.....

Blogging is such a funny thing to me at times. Sometimes I REALLY enjoy it and have great fun at it. But then there are other times I just honestly have nothing to say. If you knew me in real life you'd be cracking up right now because I rarely have nothing to say. I mean seriously, it's a problem...if you catch me on the phone we may end up chatting for an hour or so easily...I have to work at not saying too much. I'm an honest gabber who talks a mile a minute. When I'm writing...it sometimes flows freely but at other times it dries all up....like the Sahara. I guess that's just life!

Onward....
I had a great weekend with my daughter! We went shopping this past week to find her some new jeans. We had such a great time together as Mother and daughter...these truly are the good times! In a few days she will be 15!! Oh my, where has the time gone?? We talked about learning to drive this summer....THIS SUMMER!!! It will be here before I know it. I am a bit nervous over this next stage....the letting go stage.....the you've got to learn to be your own person....the one God created you to be- stage! Being there as a Mom yet allowing my sweetheart to grow up and experience her life....a releasing to young adulthood....I hope I make it...pray for me :)
Well back to shopping. Did you know that it's terribly hard to find a pair on modest jeans for a 15 year old? Ugh....it was quite the hunt! But we DID do it! I am so tired of low rise (more like NO rise) jeans! They don't make shirts long enough to cover the belly with pants that low.....I can't wait for styles to change! At this house......we don't allow our bellies or our undies to show. There's a neat product called Jaks that are a stretchy material band you wear under your shirt but over your pants to help cover and be modest. Check them out here Jaks. I think these are a cool idea.....but a bit pricey for me...plus the lace, for me, seems too undergarment-ish. I'm thinking I may try to make some with old tee shirt bottoms stitched with elastic. I like the idea of layering but I have trouble finding tank tops long enough. I have limited sewing skills so we'll see how it turns out...maybe I'll blog about it. Nice idea though!
I hope everyone is enjoying this day as it comes! Mondays are nice for me as my home is totally quiet. I am trying to really ENJOY it with a good hot cup of coffee and a slow catch up of a few things I got behind on...no, actually I'm not behind....I just chose to take the weekend off. I don't know what I'm cooking yet this week....I think I'll use up some leftovers and a few frozen items that should really be finished off soon. I have a few frozen loaves of good bread so I'm thinking some seriously good homemade soup and chili this week....plus it's gonna get cold here in Ohio again so that's perfect timing!!! If I do a vegetable soup....I'll do a video showing how I use my whole frozen tomatoes- it's so easy!
