Pan Burgers

Today's recipe is more bout a new method than a recipe. Most times you'll see this on the web for mini White Castle type burgers...but during the winter when I don't want to grill, this method works very well and is super fast! WAY faster than pan frying. Here we go.....mix your ground beef (any type or even ground turkey, lamb or chicken) with whatever spices you like. I just like salt pepper and a little Worcestershire sauce. Use about 1 1/2 to 2 lbs meat for a 15 x 11 in pan. USE A RIMMED PAN to avoid the mess of oil. Use less meat for a smaller pan...a 9x13 cake pan would be nice for a smaller family...we feed six...hence the larger pan. Pat meat out in pan. Use your fingers to poke little holes in meat. I then placed diced onion (optional) over half the meat and pressed the onions in. Cook at 400 for 15 to 25 mins. Till done to your liking...we like well done- no pink. Just watch it the first time then adjust from there. I did have to pull the pan out once during cooking and strain off some oil. You could use a leaner meet or a higher edged pan...but straining was NO BIG DEAL! When done cut into squares to fit your hamburger buns! We have also cut these before into rectangular slabs to fit hoggie buns and topped with pizza sauce and cheese or sauteed onions and peppers with cheese...YUM! Any way I hope you try this quick and easy process!

That's a neat idea! I will have to try that sometime. We love to eat burgers at home, but usually just pan fry. Thanks for the tip. :)

YAY!!! I've been wanting to stop buying all these boxed hamburger patties but I just never wanted to take the time to pat out each little patty by hand! This looks like it would be faster and easier too! I have to make some rolls to take to thanksgiving dinner at some friends of ours' place, I'll make a double batch and make this for supper tomorrow!
