Little bits matter!

Saving money. It's on everybody's mind. It's the current "it" topic everywhere. ...has been for some time. Followers here know I took a whole year off. We did not have a computer connection all that time. We canceled the Cable TV too. Those two together were $104 a month. ...saved $1248 last year. Did we have TV? Yes. Bought a $29 digital outside antenna and got around 28 channels....free after the first $29. I'm happy with that. Sometimes we use Netfliks. I recently found flavored coffee creamer at my local 99 center. I had been using Kroger's generic that cost $2.99 each. The two are the same size, same ingredients same quality.... indistinguishable in every way...except price. I use one bottle a week. Lets do the math. $2 savings x 52 weeks a year = $104. YAY! Now if I could only ditch my coffee habit...then I wouldn't need to buy coffee or creamer...LOL! I have also found other GREAT deals at my 99 center....particularly in the snack area and frozen fruits....we like smoothies here and frozen fruit can get pricey elsewhere! Sometimes it does not seem worth it to save a little bit here and there...but it really can be! It's easy to see the big savings like when redoing furniture or simply doing with out. But lets face it....most of us don't like to do without....we will if absolutely necessary...but we by nature don't like it. So I challenge us all to continue to seek the little ways that we can save everyday....they are worth the effort. If unsure if something it worth your time...do the math. Doing the math makes me more aware. This year on the net I think I'll focus on some of the more obscure and extreme frugal ideas.....I may try a few....we'll see! As always if you have great tips, know of good books or sights on the web...post them up in the comments section!

What a great post.

Awhile back we turned off our cable and got an atenna. I worked great.
I thought we would watch TV less, but I think we actually watched the same amount.. LOL.

I love to save money where ever I can. Though sometimes trying to SAVE money takes up a lot of my time.

Blessings..
