Fall!!!

Oh how I LOVE the Fall season! God sure knew what He was doing when He created the seasons, didn't He?? Just about the time you get sick of one.....up springs the next! Fall is here in my little corner of Ohio .....the leaves are getting crunchy and drying out, vivid greens fade for their long earned rest....we covered our pool...the rabbit hutch has been winterized.....flower beds set to rest...AND I think we just did our LAST mow of the season! I always welcome the slow from the work of summer. Cool weather is my friend too! I hate being too cold and don't like the heat much either......so Fall is just right for me! I love the smells, the sights, and the feel of it all! Cool night air with the soft faint smell of warm cozy fires...crisp leaves that crackle protesting your every step. Fall is a very vivid reminder to me also that things change. They always do. You can't stop it.....you can't even hold it back....not even for a second....time marches on, with or without you. Change is not bad....it just means you have to figure out where you fit in it all. When things are a miss and not quite right around me, I tend to putter around the house. I bet I'm not the only one to do this.....I guess it's what happens when things are on my mind. I'm actually glad I have this habit......I get SO much done during these times alone around my home. Cleaning for me can almost be done in my sleep, without paying any attention.....I've scrubbed the same things for years, I know each nook and cranny....my hands go to auto pilot! With my hands busy.....it frees my mind up to think big thoughts.....bold thoughts...important thoughts...private thoughts between myself and my Lord. Once done with the chores of the day.....I decided it was time for some CHEER!! I got out my small box of Fall pretties and gussied up the place a bit! It was just what I needed :)
