Month Menu

So I'm starting my menu!! WooHoo! I enjoy things like this.....sometimes! My requirements are pretty basic......simple food that I can prepare quickly with minimal fuss and little cost. I am not a big health nut and we don't require a vast array of choices here at my house. I know we could eat healthier so don't critique my foods too heavily.....this isn't the point ;) I'm breaking the month into 4 weeks. Here we go....we honestly don't do major lunch menus around here and rely heavily on re heated leftovers, soups, and sandwiches at lunch times....breakfasts are quickies too......eggs, oatmeal, cereals, french toast, peanut butter toast. So for my first round I will be mainly focusing on dinners, although all other foods will be included on the grocery list (future post) to show monthly total. Each week will have a focus meat with a few extras thrown in....but if we get tired of a meat that week since it will already be bought and in the freezer I could mix things up a bit. You may notice that some meals are built on the leftovers of others, check here for a better explanation of this style of cooking! We DO tend to eat out about twice a month but I'm not including that here.....I will consider it a blessing and a free night when and if it happens :) I do this because this is how I already cook so why change things up when it works! I'm just trying to go a month long here!!

Well that's it for now. Remember these are my guys likes.....yours may be totally different :) I'll go out on the net to find a nice blank menu calender. I plan to cover it with clear contact paper or put it in a clear protector sleeve so I can write on it with a dry erase marker. I will put it on the fridge when done. This will SO help me out with the 5 other people in my home always asking me what's for dinner....that in of it's self can get overwhelming during the evening and may make this whole venture worth while!!!!! All menu's are subject to change as I move along in this process ;)

Good job! I like to plan my menus out a month at a time, although I rarely take the time to do it anymore...maybe you have inspired me to get out my menu calendar and start. The only thing I do different is to mix up the meat meals so we don't eat all the same kind all week. I also like to pre-cook some of the meals and freeze them for ease of preparation later on.
