Clothes line tip: Tibbe-Line
Clothes line tip:
Tibbe-Line
Have you heard of this thing? Well it's $14.95 and I'm here to tell you, you just don't need it! Click here to see it's picture. All you need is something you already have...your clothes pins! Just hang your clothes on their hangers then use one clothes pin between each garment at whatever space you choose. Pack them on really tight or leave a few inches between.
Here's a picture of how I do it. Oh and to save space I also hang socks across one hanger and unmentionables too (usually 2 pair per hanger)
I LOVE my clothes line but must say that I do NOT use it exclusively. Some things, like towels, I just like fluffy from the drier. Some darks just stay all linty on the line no matter how windy the day is. And some things I just don't want to have to iron....like DH's work pants and shirts. I do like to hang certain shirts or some jeans that I don't want to shrink all up... and if I'm really backed up and behind...I will hang some loads to get it all done faster! My washer can wash 2 loads during the time it takes to dry one in the drier. My line is just strung between two large trees in the backyard. The cord cost about $3.99 for 100 feet of the stuff and the screw in eye bolts were a little over a dollar a piece. But some long nails and some rope you already have could work too!
The best thing for me about a clothes line is when the power goes out. We lose it a lot here during the windy/rainy season. I can keep up on laundry now when needed. Which for a family of 6....it's a nightmare to fall too far behind! I can swish my clothes clean in a big tub with a plunger and soap when the power's out, and can now hang them out to dry. I would only do this in extreme need if it's been out a few days....cuz like who really wants to swish clothes clean by hand all the time. Surely a much stronger gal than I.... My boys like to take a large blanket out and make a pup tent with my line as the middle....what fun for them! Speaking of kids, I have one last "Cooking with Kids" instalment coming up. My youngest and I will be making banana bread soon....so look for that later on this week!! Take care and save your $14.95 on the Tibbe-Line if you have been thinking about it! I leave you with one last picture from my kitchen table.....snipped lilacs from my yard and laundry blowing in the wind out back through the window...now that's Spring to me!!!!

Hi Mrs. White....thank you for stopping by!! Don't you just love clothes on a line =) I should probably use it way more than I do.
I am an apartment dweller so I can not hang a clothes line I use hangers and clothes pins on my clothes drying rack out on my patio. It is amazing how much you can get on one rack when I want to do more than one load of laundry.
I am the inventor of the Tibbe-Line and I have a question to ask you. How often has the wind blown the hangers off the line? Because the way the Tibbe-Line is designed the hangers are locked into the Tibbe-Line and clothes do not come off the line. Please go to www.tibbeline.com to see how they work. Maxie I would like for you to try the Tibbe-Lines. Please call me at 719-544-ROSE(7673) and I'll be more than happy to give you a set. You really will like the way it works.
