Sauerbraten, Gnats and Dressing....OH MY !

Reuses...using things again...using something intended for one thing for something different. I like the concept! So you made the sweet and sour cucumbers and they were a big hit! Now your probaly left with a bowl of yummy brine. Here are some things you can do with it.
1.) Cut some more cucumbers and make some more!
2.) Use the brine to make a "mock" sauerbraten
One roast of beef (any cut.) Place in crock pot, Pour left over brine over roast. Add bay leaf (4) 1 sliced onion, 6 cloves, 6 whole black pepper corns (or just pepper) and salt to taste. Cook all day on low.
3.) use the brine as the bait for a homemade gnat trap .
4.) Make homemade italian salad dressing (I like this the best!) you will need a bottle or jar with tight lid so you can shake it. The rest is up to YOU! You need...brine solution, oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, itanian seasonings...red pepper flakes if you like it spicey! I used about 1 part brine to 3 parts oil then about 1/4 teaspoon of each spice. Put all in container and mix away! It's yummy to add parmesian cheese in there too. Let your taste guide you and try different items
