No Work Gardening?

No work gardening...is it really possible? I don't know yet! I am going to find and read a book by Ruth Stout titled: The Ruth Stout no-work garden book, by Ruth Stout and Richard Clemence and it is available through our Library's inter Library Loan program. You can read a bit about her here from Mother Earth News.

Is it cRaZy to try gardening with out all the work or a very sensible thing to do to save precious time and work/energy that could be better used elsewhere?? Or does my laziness truly know no bounds?

There is also something called Lasagna Gardening I'm going to read up on it too here.If you have tried either of these methods...what did you think? We do have a tiller so we may just till up a 14 x 14 space when our ground dries up and get started soon, our planting season starts in May after our last frost. Ruth's system, I think, is heavy mulching with things left more natural but I'll have to get the book to get the real in's and out's of it.

Thank you for the information Debbieo! The book is in high demand on e-bay.....all copies I'm looking at are well over $20.00! But I'll keep looking, I'd like to own this book one day...it might be better to purchase it off season, so for now I have a copy ordered from the library. It should arrive in a week or two....can't wait! It sounds like something I would very much be interested in. I CAN work really hard up front if it means less work later :) Plus as I near my 40's the idea of less to no weeding souds really good to me and my back! Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
