Cooking with Kids: Part 2

This is my first born twin E~. He loves Mexican food....so for his meal we made taco's! Again a very basic meal, but great practice!! He stood on a chair to see down in the pot. I like to use this tall pot because it is a pasta pot that has the holes in the lid for draining water. I always add a bit of water to my ground meat when cooking, then when done... drain the lot with the lid on, all the oil and water drain off leaving nicely browned meat. We just added a packet of taco mix per the directions. Top with whatever your family likes.

Served up with heated re fried beans with cheese on top and black bean salad (1 can rinsed black beans....toss with corn, some chopped onion and enough salsa to coat all) and some veggie and fruit slices to round out the meal.

You made me think about my childhood, and the things we helped with. It is the best way to learn.
